The Bowling Green State University hockey team enjoyed a weekend of fun, sun and plentiful smiles while volunteering at the 2009 Black Swamp Arts Festival this past weekend.
“I think it’s great that people get to see our faces and who we our without our equipment,” said senior Josh Boyd. “It’s great to use the Black Swamp Festival to give back to community.”
Armed with t-shirts, bandanas and paints of multiple colors the Falcon hockey team spent their Saturday and Sunday in the Bowling Green community with children of all ages making abstract art on clothing. Inside the tie-die station brown and orange were not the only colors splashed around to make a winning combination.
“It was a really fun weekend for both our players and those that went to the tie-die station," said head coach Dennis Williams. "It's great to see our guys interacting and having fun while putting smiles on the kids' faces."
